Does it make sense about divorce laws in California ?

Frances should pay the alimony for her husband because she made much money. Although she didn’t do something wrong, she still had to pay for that money. I think that it is so unfair and ridiculous because Frances ’ husband had an affair. He wanted to get divorce and had a good life with his new wife and newborn baby. I can’t imagine about how painful Frances should bear with. She didn’t get any compensation and apology. This guy is so hateful and cold, I can’t believe that he had such courage to offer this dishonorable opinion to Frances .

What do you think about the divorce apartment?

It’s so dark and small, it seems like you can not get happiness anymore. People who live here have the same situation: they break up with their spouse, and what they can do is just waiting and expressing their sorrow. So, I’m glad that Frances gets the opportunity to take a trip. She should disburden unhappy memories of the past, and just have lots fun.

I like the card’s contents that Frances wrote.

The letter is that: “It’s market day in Cortona. The piazza is an ongoing party, and everyone is invited. Cliches converge at this navel of the world. You almost want to laugh, but you can’t help feeling these Italians know more about having fun than we do. I eat a hot grape from the market, and the violet sweetness breaks open in my mouth. It even smells purple. I wish I could stay longer, but the bell reminds me of time. Ding-dang –dong, the bell says. Instead of ding-dong. I wish you were here.” When I read the translation of Chinese, I feel it is so beautiful and fresh. Just share this adorable letter with you.

Frances meets the country house named Bramasole. If you were her, would you make the same decision to buy it?

Probably I don’t, because you should face many challenges and difficulties to live in the unfamiliar country. I think that I don’t have much courage to do this decision. Maybe I would move to another city and change my whole lifestyles. But I don’t want to adapt different culture and language. In fact, it’s too hard for me. And I guess that I’m not in the mood to handle those problems of cross-country.

What’s your opinion about the old man with the flowers?

He makes me to think about having and losing. Perhaps he had the marriage, family or lover, but now he lived alone forever. Although this movie doesn’t offer the direct answer of this old man in the end, but I like this peaceful and unforgettable atmosphere. It reminds me that everyone has their own past and secret, we can understand them by behavior, talking or personality, and many sides.

The accident of finding snakes:

Frances expresses her feelings of divorce. Then, tells the anticipation about having a wedding and family in this house. Martini shares the story with Frances to make her become better and optimistic. The friendship between Martini and Frances is special. They like each other, but they have the same attitude to keep it simple and pure.

Do you like Katherine? Why or why not?

It’s not easy to say yes or no. When I first see her, I have found out she is a wonderful woman. She just did herself no matter others opinions and critique. I’m not good at companying with this type person because I care about what people think. Katherine is incredible, but I don’t have the confidence to get along with her.

Meet Marcello.

I think that Marcello is a charming and attractive person. He is not only handsome, but also humorous and easygoing. I can realize why Frances  falls in love with Marcello suddenly. However, Marcello still is not the Mr. Right of Frances. He loves freedom and hates wait. It's important for Marcello to held every moment and enjoy whole life. Marcello doesn't focus on the promise, it's also not the good time to talk about marriage. Although Marcello likes Frances, too; but he always changes his mind, they can not keep the stable relationship for a long time. I think that Frances and Marcello are not appropriate for each other. They have different values of love: one cares about stability forever, another cares about enjoyment at present. I can predict that there would be some conflicts between them although they don't break up. 

Patti comes.

This part touches me deeply. Patti is pregnant and heartbreaking because her lover left. Patti and Frances have the same painful experience: lose their love no matter the spouse is male or female. It makes me to cherish the relationship with friends and family. Perhaps our lovers would change their mind and fall in love with others, but our friends and family wouldn't. Patti is not alone. When she becomes depressed and moody, Frances would company with her whatever.

About the conclusion:

In the end, all expectation of Frances become true. There is a wedding and family in her house. Finally, she meets who she loves indeed. Frances can share everything with her family and friends, and her writing career runs well. I'm glad that Frances can get her happiness and doesn't need to break her heart anymore. She becomes mature and strong.  Frances finds out that she should be independent and confident no matter what she meets. She is so brave and sensitive, so  Frances is my favorite character in this movie.
